Hell has finally frozen over and resulted in the first winter edition of Boozedrome! This is strictly online-only, and will be on our YouTube channel. We're keeping it chill with the rules too, which have been relaxed considerably! Check out the specifics below. No physical release will be produced though, but we'll put up the tracks on Bandcamp. The results will be announced on the Jumalauta Discord, which you should also check out for general chatter.
Rules
To compete, make a track with the following specs:- Genre: anything on what one might call the "hardcore/gabber continuum" - it doesn't have to sound like it's from the 1990s!
- Any tracker format playable in Hippo Player 2.45 without additional libraries
- Example formats: ProTracker MOD, OctaMED, AHX, and if you're willing to take risks regarding playback quality, S3M, XM, and SID
- The tracks will be played on an A600 with 68020 CPU and some extra memory. For a somewhat similar emulator config (e.g. WinUAE), use a bare A1200 + Fast RAM for testing.
- Maximum size: 2 MB
- Maximum length: 3 minutes
We are going to play practically every entry in the compo. However, we reserve the right to hold a limited preselection if there are tons of entries. (like, more than 20 or so)
We reserve the right to cancel the compo if we don't receive enough entries.
No physical release will be made. However, a digital Bandcamp compilation will be released.
Tracks will be recorded in mono unless stereo is specifically requested by the author.
By participating you also give the organizers the permission to potentially include tracks on future physical compilations, with any possible profits going towards organizing the next competition and producing more physical releases.
